Dr. Albert Raboteau - Black History Month

On the first Sunday of Black History Month, Princeton University professor Dr. Albert Raboteau, one of the foremost authorities on African-American religion, preached at the 10:30 a.m. service and led a post-service discussion. This was just one of many Black History Month events hosted by St. George's Absalom Jones Committee on Black History & Culture.

CROP Walk

Susan Mangasarian, at 83 a beloved matriarch of St. George's, walked for the second year in a row in the CROP Walk and challenged the St. George's community to sponsor her, with the Outreach Committee matching the pledges. Under Susan's leadership, the St. George's delegation raised $1110 dollars; the Outreach Committee matching brought St. George's total contribution to the Crop Walk up to $2110 - our largest ever! The total amount raised by all five participating churches was $4250.

Parish Hall Grand Opening

The Rt. Rev. Mark Beckwith, 10th Bishop of Newark (center), attended the grand opening of St. George's newly renovated Parish Hall. The Bishop blessed the new Parish Hall and also the new outdoor altar in the Memorial Garden. He is shown with the Rev. Bernie Poppe, Rector (right) and Bill MacIntosh (left), chair of the Capital Projects committee responsible for the Parish Hall renovations.
