Inspired by Jane and Lydia's pilgrimage in Spain, some members of the Sunday School went on their own mini "pilgrimage" around the town of Maplewood. Their adventures included visiting other churches, and exploring a giant tree uprooted by a storm.

Jane and Lydia spent a week in May 2008 walking El Camino de Santiago ("The Way of St. James"), a 110 kilometer, week-long pilgrimage from Sarria to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain, where legend has it that the remains of the apostle Saint James the Great are buried. El Camino de Santiago has existed for over a thousand years, and was one of the most important Christian pilgrimages during medieval times.
